Charles Barkley jokes how he'd get Nick Saban to stop coaching Bama

Charles Barkley has an idea for how to end Alabama's reign atop the college football world.

The Auburn alum and Pro Basketball Hall of Famer would take Saban on a trip with him.

"I want to go to Cuba," Barkley said in an interview about Aubrun and Alabama football with WBRC in Alabama. "I just want to see it in its pristine state before all the changes come ... But I want to go and see the country and the culture. I want to take Saban with me. There's no chance he'd ever come back. I would pay Coach Saban – I would love to invite him to Cuba with me."

And what would he do with Saban in Cuba?

"We're not playing golf," Barkley said while trying to keep a straight face. "I'm going to try to get him to Guantanamo Bay and get him stuck there.

Before Alabama fans get riled up, the ever-quotable NBA on TNT commentator was joking, just like we said he was in the headline. And we'd also bet if this incredibly-hypothetical and never-to-happen trip actually did happen that Saban would have a process for getting out of Guantanamo Bay already in place before the two got anywhere near.

Barkley previously called Saban the "greatest football coach ever" (twice) in the interview and said "If you don't admire the job Nick Saban's done, you're just a fool."

That's high praise coming from an Auburn fan.
